THE ART OF A PETAL

I just had to show you guys this picture. I took a walk at the beach after a long day at work and found this beautiful piece of art on the edge of a slope where roots were cracking the clay, as they broke free from the ground. It was hot, and it had not rained for days, so the clay was dry and hard. However, as a contrast to the tough picture of roots, dry clay and cracks, a small pink petal from a rosehip rested on the side, making the random art of nature so strangely meaningful.

It was exactly how I felt that day. Fragile among thorns, hard clay and dried dark roots. After taking the picture, I stood and looked at it for a while – probably looking like an idiot, standing and staring at a slope…
